On January 6, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman said in his latest blog post that he is convinced that he has mastered the method of building AGI (general artificial intelligence). Sam Altman predicts that in 2025, we may see the first AI agents “join the workforce” and substantially change corporate output.
Altman said that ChatGPT has grown from the initial 100 million weekly active users to more than 300 million in the two years since its launch. OpenAI is turning its attention to the development of super intelligence, which will significantly accelerate scientific discovery and innovation and bring greater social prosperity.
Regarding the “lightning dismissal” incident in November last year, Altman called it a “major failure of governance”, but also said that this experience made him a more thoughtful leader. He especially thanked Ron Conway and Brian Chesky for their help during the crisis, saying that without their support, OpenAI might have fallen apart.
